Artists in Isolation | Wayland Dragonfly Exhibit

A bit of positivity is exactly what we need at a time like this. When everything is an 'unprecedented circumstance', 'an unusual duration' and 'a peculiar event' - if I quote the majority of emails I receive nowadays.

Bertie / Jerry / Billie

The Wayland Dragonfly Gallery are doing their part to spread a bit of happiness with their "Artists in Isolation' exhibit. They have gathered up different art forms from Graphic Illustrations, to Anthotypes, to Stained Glass, Crafts and Sculptures and are showcasing them in an online exhibition that you can find here. This exhibit will be displayed online until 31st May 2020.

A few of my pieces are featured in this exhibit. Jerry, Berti, Billie, Penelope and Ben from my Animals in Hats series are all there to say hi. And I'm in good company with great artists such as Jonny Bursnell, Genevieve Rudd and Chris Haywood.

Penelope

The Wayland Gallery is not only a community-owned gallery, they also have a charitable aim. They firmly believe that the creative arts can be beneficial to improving mental health. They have worked with many groups to encourage this - namely, schools, unemployed, socially isolated, retired, EALs, and local prison inmates. All with a team of dedicated volunteers. Their website is here if you would like to read more.

They're, of course, closed temporarily at the moment, but once they are back up and running do go and pop in if you're in the Watton area. They always have some kind of activity, workshop or class going on and they have a great sensory garden you can check out too.
