You may or may not have heard of Inktober. It's a daily challenge which runs every October which thousands of artists and other creatives participate in from all over the globe. It's been running since 2009 and was started by Jake Parker in a mission to improve his drawing ability.
I've decided that 2023 is that year that I join in too! Despite the fact that I've never drawn in ink before, there's no time like the present to learn.
So, there aren't many rules in this challenge...firstly you have to use ink. Any kind of ink will do, however I've chosen to keep it simple, stick with what I already have and create my pieces with a Pigma Micron 08 pen. Secondly, you have to use the #inktober tag, and thirdly, you try to attempt to participate in as many days as possible. Personally, I'm trying to incorporate this into a daily routine so fully intend to create a piece every day.
The challenge also provides you with prompts for the month...
I'm really looking forward to push myself into trying this new (for me) medium and seeing the progress I can make over the month. It will also be great to prove to myself that I can stick to this challenge and actually finish it!
